Eating Monster Munch before going into Tiso to look at hats
I was walking to Glasgow Central station and figuring I'd make do with Costa inside when I walked past Riverhill Coffee Shop just along from the entrance to the station. So I squeezed my way inside (it was busy) and was greeted by an amazing array of what are clearly homemade cakes and biscuits. The smell was amazing! I looked up at the board and saw the styles of coffee they do, including AeroPress! First time I've ever seen that in a coffee shop, so that's what I had to have. The baristas were great and I struck up a decent conversation with the barista serving me about AeroPress recipes and the like; it was great! But cakes and service are one thing. How was the coffee? Well, it was a 'take-a-sip-and-widen-your-eyes-in-pleasant-surprise' kinda coffee. Seriously. It was without doubt the best coffee I've had yet. Anywhere. So yes, I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Glasgow so I can get one of the way to where I'm going and on the way back as well. If only there were a bit more space inside; I'll just have to get there at a quiet time of day I guess.
There was lovely soft light this morning with an overcast sky and dramatic clouds. There was also some slippery algae on the concrete slope down to the beach. I can attest to its slipperiness by showing you my skinned elbows and bruised back. The camera bounced off the lens hood and survived with no damage other than a few scratches on the plastic. Who knows how it would've turned out if I hadn't put the lens hood back on this morning! The lesson: watch your footing and not the landscape whilst in motion! But how many of us can walk out of work, cross the road and have this view! We're so lucky on Arran!
